Neymar wants to return to Barcelona ‘at any cost’ – report

The football world has been agitated by journalist Joan Fontes’ allegations that former Barcelona forward Neymar is keen to rejoin the Catalan team and is supposedly prepared to do it “at any cost.”

The potential of a reunion between the Brazilian star and the dominant La Liga team has been suggested by this discovery.

Neymar had a legendary past with Barcelona and is presently a player for the Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal.

After moving to the club from Santos in 2013, he soon won over the supporters and formed a potent attacking three with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, dubbed “MSN.”

Neymar, who signed a four-year contract extension with the team in 2025, was instrumental in helping them win two La Liga crowns and the 2015 UEFA Champions League.

But the Brazilian made a splash in 2017 when he signed a record-breaking €222 million transfer agreement to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite how good this move may seem, it is important to remember that Neymar’s injury history is one of the obstacles to his comeback.

Neymar has suffered from recurrent injuries since leaving Barcelona in 2017, which have prevented him from playing for significant periods of time across many seasons.

The forward’s wage demands are a significant additional issue that makes this reunion more difficult. Barcelona’s already precarious finances would be severely strained if Neymar’s current wages—which are among the highest in all of football—are met.

Barcelona is still struggling to manage its debt and adhere to La Liga’s stringent pay cap laws, which has left the club in a vulnerable financial situation.

Even at a lower cost, the club might not be able to make the necessary financial modifications to acquire Neymar without running the danger of worsening its already precarious financial situation.

Given these worries, it is improbable that Barcelona will be able to get Neymar to rejoin the team.

Although some supporters may find it attractive to reunite with their former hero, it is unlikely given his history of injuries and the club’s financial limitations.
