FC Barcelona have five candidates on the table to replace Dembele

The Catalans are beginning to scour the market in an effort to find a potential replacement for Ousmane Dembele as the Frenchman draws nearer to leaving FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old has been an important member of Xavi Hernandez’s team, and his departure will undoubtedly leave a significant gap in the lineup.

As a result, Barça will search for a player who may not necessarily be a like-for-like replacement but who can make an immediate impact and contribute to the team’s success.

According to journalist Albert Fernandez’s report on Directo Gol, Barcelona is looking to replace Dembele and has five candidates on the table.

Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva
The connections between Barcelona and Bernardo Silva are not new at all, and the departure of Dembele may provide the La Liga champions with enough Fair Play room to pursue the star from Manchester City.

Xavi continues to push for his signing even though he would not be a like-for-like replacement, and the player is also eager to make the switch. But the citizens of the city will not capitulate easily and will struggle to retain him. They might set a high asking price if the 28-year-old requests to leave to deter Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix
Joao Felix is another player who Barça is interested in, but he does not have the same profile as Dembele, and he is also being linked with a move to Catalonia. The player has acknowledged that he has many admirers at the club and that he has a dream of playing for the Blaugrana.

But Xavi does not prioritise his signing because he does not think he would fit in well. Despite this, Felix is said to be the most likely candidate to join, with talks having already been restarted. Economically, Felix could make a lot of sense for Barcelona.

Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane

Barcelona has the option of sane.
Given his versatility, age, and years of experience competing at the highest level with Manchester City and Bayern Munich, Leroy Sane might be a good choice for Barcelona.

The 27-year-old is skilled at creating chances and scoring goals, but reports out of Germany indicate that he is unwilling to leave Bavaria and join Barça this summer to take Dembele’s place. His fees may also be a problem given that his contract has two more years left on it.

Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman
All the factors that make Sane a good choice for Barcelona also apply to Kingsley Coman, a teammate from Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old Frenchman has previously been on the club’s radar.

Since Coman committed his future to the Bundesliga champions by signing a new contract in January of last year, his signing this summer would be all but impossible.

Richard Doku (Jeremy)
Doku, the youngest player on the list, has made significant progress with Rennes over the previous two seasons. Despite not being one of the most productive wingers around, the 21-year-old has shown a tonne of promise and has room to develop into a superstar.

However, Manchester City, the Premier League champion, is also interested in signing the Belgian winger as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez and is competing with Barcelona for his services.
